Metasine is the artistic project and vision of Boston, MA based music producer and saxophonist Connor Jay Proctor. Connor grew up outside of Hartford, CT, where he began playing saxophone and guitar in bands with a few of his friends. Connor was quickly drawn to and captivated by the monumental effect of music on the mind, and became obsessed with the science of beautiful sounds. Combined with his background in psychology and philosophy, Connor was soon driven to experiment more with sound on his own, which eventually spawned his passion for music production.
To Connor, Metasine is a form of a transcendence. It is a paradigm in which the true emotional power of music lies in the ability of sound to penetrate and seemingly evaporate the dualism of body and mind. While sound is a physical phenomenon, music is psychological. While waves enter the brain, music enters the mind.
Most recently, Connor's knack for sampling his growing collection of old school funk, jazz, and soul records has ignited a new fire within him… THE FUNK. In the summer of 2015, Metasine released "Collateral Consciousness", a 6 song EP that seamlessly blends the texture and grime of old, dusty vinyl with the power and precision of modern electronic music. This EP is a preview of things to come, as Metasine continues to transform and evolve his artistic vision and experimental methods.
Music is magic. Transcend Sound.
